HOW TO ENTER IRC CHAT?

IRC is nothing but Internet Relay Chat, where people used to create communication groups namely channels similar to yahoo chat rooms , But yahoo chat rooms doesn't provide much of the variety.

IRC is an network consisting of various servers in which one can create and channels and invite others to join channel with the help of the account. All they need is nickname there which should be registered in the nickserv . Once the name is registered , next time all you need to do is to identify urself with the command ex: /msg nickserv identify ******.

Anyone can enter the channels in the IRC server jus by installing the IRC client or plug-in if you are using firefox

Windows clients on which i had my hands on are MIRC and X-CHAT

MIRC is the normal windows internet relay chat client which most people use, you can get this client for free in their site. www.mirc.com

I had to switch to X-Chat because i faced some problem with mirc while connectin through SSL.
Some clients allows you to connect using SSL , where your connection with the servers will be encrypted so no packet sniffers can hook your details.For using SSL , both user and server should have some pre requisites.
